Joan Winn, University of Denver

The case focuses on a direct-marketing business in prague that is involved in strategic positioning and growth for the future. It is designed to illustrate the complexities of establishing a business in Central Europe where the business climate is not mature and the market for products and services is not well defined. The case is intended for graduate courses in international management, strategic management, or entrepreneurship.
 
 

The "We Go - You Go" Bus Co.

This case describes six different scenarios faced by middle management in a connector bus company. Each scenario may be used to discuss the rights and responsibilities of consumers, employees and management of institutions. The caselets are intended for use in undergraduate courses management, HRM, ethics and social responsibility.
 
 

The Generic Cure Hospital Management Ethics Committee

This case focuses on five ethical issues in a physician owned not-for-profit hospital, involving patient, employee, and community rights and responsibilities. The case is intended for use in undergraduate courses in management, ethics and social responsibility.
 
 

Antarctica: 10 Billion Bottles of Beer and Pop on the Wall

In this case. Antarctica, one of Brazil's top two beer producers, is facing increasing competition and a more turbulent and uncertain environment.. Major issues facing management involve distribution, marketing, production and expansion (international and domestic). The case would be appropriate for courses in strategic management and international management.
 
 

The Enterprise for the Environment (E4E) Kevin Kessler Cullather, George Washington University (Doctoral Student)

This cases focuses on the E4E project, a multi stakeholder dialogue, convened in 1996. E4E brought together representatives of the public and private sector with the initial goal of "forging a consensus on systematic statutory reforms" to US environmental laws. This case would be appropriate for courses in business ethics and social responsibility and environmental law.
 

Management at Nyborg Laundry Machines

In this case, the domestic sales manager on Nyborg Laundry Machines, a Danish subsidiary of Electrolux since 1982, contemplates the future of the company. He reflects on the difficulty of meeting cost reduction requirements in the past and anticipates future programs. This case could be used in a strategic management course.
