Eligible Cases

Cases may deal with any topic in any academic discipline where dynamic classroom discussion is useful. Cases must be original work based on real events, real people, and real organizations, and must not have been previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere, either in journals or books. Submitted cases may also not be under simultaneous review for other conferences or publications. Cases presented in other workshops may be submitted only if they have been substantially revised since that presentation; authors should describe the case’s previous history in their submittal letter.

Typically, cases are submitted in most of the business functional areas. But cases are invited and encouraged from other areas and disciples, including but not limited to education, social work, and healthcare issues (e.g., management, ethics, policy). If you not sure which track chair to submit your case to, then please contact Jeff Shay and provide him with a brief one paragraph description of your case.

Author Responsibility to Participate

If accepted, the submission must be presented. In consideration of having a submission reviewed for the conference, you are committing to having at least one author attend and participate in the roundtable discussions or paper/symposia presentation.

Each case must be presented by at least one author who participates in both the Friday and Saturday morning roundtable sessions. Also, no more than two cases may be presented in the same track by the same author.

Submission Instructions

This year NACRA is transitioning to an online case submission process using a platform called ScholarOne. This will increase our submission and review process efficiency and make it much easier for authors, reviewers, track chairs, etc. Authors should submit their case(s) by Monday, June 14, 2010 to be considered for participation in conference. Create your account NOW!!!

To get started, you’ll need to create an account on ScholarONE by following these simple steps:

  1. Go to http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/nacra2010
  2. Click on “Create Account” located in the upper right-hand corner of the site
  3. Complete (at minimum) the required fields on Steps 1 and 2.
  4. When you get to step 3, provide a password for your account. Additionally, indicate the track(s) that you would like to be considered as a reviewer.
  5. Click Finish

You can establish an account prior to submitting your case if you would like. ScholarOne has a support staff ready to assist you if you need any help.

Case Embryos

New case researchers may submit regular “case embryos” – ideas for cases still under development – for feedback from experienced case authors. See the Newcomer's Guide for more information if this is your first time with NACRA. Fill out the embryo case submission form (PDF) and send it to Vijaya Narapareddy by September 1, 2010. These cases will be presented on Thursday afternoon, October 28.

If Your Case Is Accepted

If your case is accepted, please review these instructions for further submission guidance (PDF).
